- Mrs. Hattie Whitehead, mother of Joseph Whitehead, the first person from Hamilton County to die in World War II, unveiling the bronze tablet at the World War II memorial on Patten Parkway in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The bronze tablet bears the names of six hundred ninety-five heroes. Photograph from one volume of eight scrapbooks compiled by E. Y. Chapin, Walter Cline, and Frank F. Stoops of the Chattanooga Half Century Club.
