The first national military park, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park was created by an Act of Congress in 1890 and dedicated in 1895. The majority of the park is located in Catoosa and Walker Counties, Georgia, but some sections are in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, while others are in and around Chattanooga, Tennessee.
