- Boiler company founded by M. G. Weidner and Patrick Walsh located at West Montgomery (later Main) and Belt Railroad, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Company began in 1890, consolidated with Casey-Hedges Company in 1928 and was eventually sold to Combustion Engineering in 1938. Typed text on photo reads: "From 1890 to 1928 the Walsh & Weidner Boiler Co. survived Depression and disaster and emerged stronger than ever, gradually acquiring more and more property in the area that had been known as 'Tannery Flats' because of the earlier tenancy of a huge stock yard and tannery, the United States Leather Co. On February 4, 1897, the Walsh-Weidner plant was almost completely destroyed by fire. The insurance coverage paid only {dollar}2,000.00."
