- Hospital organized by Dr. George R. West and Dr. Manning Ellis located at 612 W. 9th Street (now M. L. King Boulevard) Chattanooga, Tennessee 1904-1922. Name changed to Chattanooga Hospital 1923-1931 and the Chattanooga Lying In Hospital 1931. In 1945 it became known as the Carver Hospital, which provided medical care to the African American community. Originally building was home of former mayor Thomas J. Carlile and it later belonged to John L. Divine. Undivided back postcard. Printed on postcard: "The West-Ellis Private Hospital, Chattanooga, Tenn."
