- Two different views in the Elise Chapin Wildlife Sanctuary (now Audubon Acres) Chattanooga, Tennessee: 1. Group at well. Man on far right is naturalist Robert Sparks Walker (1878-1960); others unidentified. 2. Log cabin home of Cherokee naturalist Spring Frog (b. 1754). Cabin may have been built as early as ca. 1748; it was restored in 1945 and then changed extensively in 1972. Some sources suggest Spring Frog (also known as Tooan tuh or Tooantuh) came to Chattanooga area in 1776 and built the cabin then. Sanctuary was named for wife of Mr. E. Y. Chapin who gave the land for it in 1945. Mounted with and filed under 00004824.
