The General, a locomotive of the Western and Atlantic Railroad which ran between Atlanta and Chattanooga. Currently housed in Kennesaw, Georgia. Published in Chattanooga Yesterday and Today, vol. 1, p. 6. Typed caption on verso reads: "The General, famous locomotive which was the subject of the motion picture 'The Great Locomotive Chase' is located in the Union Station in Chattanooga. The General was captured by Union troops during the War Between the States and after a thrilling chase through two states, was recaptured by Confederates close to Chattanooga." Point Park is part of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park which was purchased by the United States government in 1898.
