Sherman Heights Sherman Heights, also known as Sherman Reservation, is part of the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, the first national military park, was created by an Act of Congress in 1890 and dedicated in 1895. The majority of the park is located in Catoosa and Walker counties, Georgia, but some sections are on Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, while others are in and around Chattanooga, Tennessee. Caption on front: "Sherman Heights-Showing the field of Sherman's victory on Missionary Ridge". Originally published in Picturesque Chattanooga, Tennessee, Art Publishing Co. 1890. Sherman Reservation, Missionary Ridge The color postcards show the valley from Sherman Heights, also known as Sherman Reservation. Sherman Reservation is part of the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, the first national military park, created by an Act of Congress in 1890 and dedicated in 1895. The majority of the park is located in Catoosa and Walker counties, Georgia, but some sections are on Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, while others are in and around Chattanooga, Tennessee. The naming of Lookout Mountain was part of the 71st anniversary celebration of the Battle of Lookout Mountain. Peace Monument is located in Point Park, part of the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. The military park was created in 1890 by Act of Congress and dedicated in 1895.
