- Four views of the Incline No. 2. Top left shows Lookout Mountain Incline No. 2 car at lower station in St. Elmo area of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Photograph on top right shows close-up of the electromagnetic holding brake in the machine room in the station at the top. Photograph on bottom left shows maximum grade portion of tracks. Photograph on bottom right shows electromagnetic holding brake. The first Incline (No. 1) was organized 1885 and ceased operations in 1899. Incline No. 2 began operations in 1895 and continues today as of 2007. Photographs accompany "Nomination of Designation of Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark." Ceremony held September 11, 1991.
